Governance

Since its creation, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation has adhered to strict rules of governance and operation, thanks in particular to its Board of Directors and Scientific Advisory Board.

Board of directors

The Foundation is administered by a 12-member Board including :

  • 4 members from the college of founders (including 2 members appointed by Envoludia (formerly Apetreimc);
  • 5 members from the college of qualified personalities, chosen for their expertise in the Foundation's field of activity;
  • 2 members from the college of "friends" of the Foundation;
  • 1 member from the college of institutional partners, comprising the Fédération Paralysie Cérébrale France.

The Foundation's roadmap is set with everyone's agreement and under everyone's impetus.

The mission of the Board of Directors is to:

  • define the Foundation's major orientations and annual policy;
  • approve the annual financial statements;
  • decide on the appropriation of profits;
  • vote on the provisional budget;
  • elect the members of the Executive Committee, comprising 4 members (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary)

The Board of Directors meets at least once every 6 months, and whenever convened by its Chairman, at the request of one-quarter of its members or the Government Commissioner.

Scientific Advisory Board

The Foundation's Scientific Council (SC) is the body responsible for scientific matters. Composed of independent, internationally recognized personalities, its role is to :

  • evaluate research projects to be financed through calls for proposals;
  • give its opinion on the Foundation's major research orientations;
  • provide the Board of Directors with information on possible and scientifically relevant research themes, methodologies and modes of action.

It can have up to 20 members, with a minimum of 8. It includes one or two members with lived experience expertise (person with cerebral palsy, family or caregiver), in order to put forward the point of view of those concerned.

CS members are appointed by the Foundation's Board of Directors on the recommendation of the CS Chairman and after consultation with the other CS members, for a 4-year term, renewable once.

The Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Board is also appointed by the Foundation's Board of Directors after consultation with the members of the Scientific Advisory Board.
